FIGHTING FANTASY

Who remembers FIGHTING FANTASY books, they were good because they were quite thick, but you could finish them in about an hour so it sort of made you look intelligent in front of girls. My favourite's were Citadel of Chaos, Freeway Fighter, Phantoms of Fear, Slaves of The Abyss, Appointment with F.E.A.R. and The Rings of Kether.

i remember these! they were brilliant. but every time you had to fight a troll or whatever (in the dice rolling fighting bit) i always cheated. surely no-one went back to the start when they got beaten?

creature of havoc was a good one. I met Ian Livingstone in Bath once, he also sired games workshop and tomb raider, he's pretty much the geek allfather

i think the Citadel Of Chaos was the very first one published, wasn't it? I had to stop playing those because I was way too scared. At first I loved these books so much that I stole one at a birthday party, we were 10yo, it was one present for the girl, and the book dropped of my pants in front of everybody. Yeah, they're evil books
