ALL THINGS SST
THE BLASTING CONCEPT is a great blog that just uploads albums and other stuff related solely to one of the most important American Punk Record Labels SST, I was trying to find the Nig-Heist album, but then I realised I don't think it was actually released on SST, so here is an equally great record that was released by SST, THE SEVEN INCH WONDERS OF THE WORLD, which is a compilation of every single SST 7" released up until 1986.
THE DECLINE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION PT.1
The Decline of Western Civilization Pt.1 is a documentary following the L.A. punk scene from 1979 to 1980. For some reason, the L.A. punk scene never really gets the credit it deserves compared to London and New York, I guess those 2 where first but with bands such as The Germs, X, Fear, Black Flag (pre Henry Rollins) and The Circle Jerks who are all in this brilliant documentary you cant really ignore it can you. It also follows the beginning of Slash Records who started out as a fanzine but went on to release records for X, The Misfits, Violent Femmes, Gun Club and The Knitters to name but a few. This documentary is worth watching just for the footage of Darby Crash.
