THE MANY GUISES OF J-DAWG OUR SAVIOUR
Remember that power-packed painting of Jesus as a junkie? Well, Maya from My Little Apartment wrote in to say that she actually knows the artist and went to school with his son in Kentucky. She kindly enclosed a link to Stephen Sawyer's portfolio, which I'm happy to report is SEARING with Art 4 God and includes images of J.C. as a boxer, as a sailor, and as a cool dude bearing a tattoo. "WITCHES" BURNED TO DEATH BY MOB
WARNING: REAL-LIFE HORROR
This jerky video footage uploaded by a Kenyan reporter shows a group of 30 or so people milling around a bonfire in a ditch by a road. Amid the flaming bushes there are four women and a man, all in their 80's. Accused of abducting a child to use for witchcraft, they are being publicly burned to death.
Some of the bodies are trying to get out of the flames, but there are men kicking them back in. One man uses a heavy stick to batter a charred-but-still-alive woman who rolled out of fire. He then hauls her agonized body back into the pyre.
There's a squatting figure, slowly rocking back and forth as the flames lick his face. You can hear the muffled crying of people being roasted alive as the baying crowd of men and women yell and holler. This goes on for almost 2 minutes.
This video is the scariest evidence of man's inhumanity to man ever caught on camera. Sure, worse atrocities have been filmed before. But the immediacy of this cruelty - being so close to real evil - will haunt me forever. Some people say that you are somehow complicit in watching the video and you'll go to hell for looking at it. Isn't it worse to close your eyes to it and pretend that this shit doesn't happen?
Witch-burning is not uncommon in Kenya and black magic murders are reported all over Africa, all too regularly. There are self-styled voodoo priests who go around slaying children they believe are possessed by the devil, as shown in this documentary about one such Bishop who killed 100 children in Nigeria. Then there was that recent spade of murders in Tanzania involving albinos, where dozens of torsos were found dismembered after witch doctors claimed that albino skin, hair and bones can produce potions that make people rich.
It's hard to believe that in 2009 superstition and religion is still brainwashing people into committing barbarous acts.
WE HAVE GOT BIBLE-VISION
Great choreography here by the kids from Bibleman, a US video series starring an evangelical superhero who goes around converting children to Christianity. Watch till the end to see an appearance by The Fibbler, a yellow skinned villain who influences kids to lie to get out of trouble.
GOD THINKS THIS STINKS
Rollen Stewart goofed around at major US sporting events in the 1980s, using a multicoloured wig and wacky antics to get his pro-Jesus slogans on TV. At first The Rainbow Man became a bit of a celebrity, but then he became a bit of a nuisance and people tired of him. Desperate for attention, he set off stink bombs at gigs to show non-believers how "God thinks this stinks." Then in 1992 he finally flipped and took several hostages at gunpoint to a hotel room. He's now in jail serving three consecutive life sentences. There's a documentary about him and there's also this old ESPN clip. I like his glasses. SHABA BABA

My brother was channel surfing today and we noticed we had about 10 God Channels, and one of the programmes on had a guy called Trevor Baker who can heal people with the power of Jesus, he was so amazing we ended up watching him for about 2 hours, what made it so entertaining was that along with the whole audience Trevor was unbelievably ugly and he did a weird head shake every 2 minutes and instead of speaking in tongue he spoke like some Rastafarian and kept saying Shaba Baba and made sexy grunting noises.
