Watch Me Move
FYI, the animation exhibition at the Barbican is superb. Go see it. Tracing the history of animation over the past 150 years, the show brings together contemporary artists, popular favourites, and animators from the earliest days of moving pictures.
Here are two highlights...
Frank Film, 1972, by Frank and Caroline Mouris. The first ever mash-up.
The Skeleton Dance, 1929, by Disney.
Borrowing Culture
Interesting documentary about appropriation, creative influence, re-use and intellectual property in the remix age.
